The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently going to the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services into the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering expert services for instance new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency explained it is alarmed about the significant variety of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the large quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“That is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no fully sassa status functional office devoted to service the area daily. The assistance position designed for intervention experiences a high inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it tricky to the Workplace to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more means to permit the servicing of all prospects and enhance access to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
